A long time back I realised that spending time with another person(s) who can relate to me, helped. Belonging to various support groups has brought me more knowledge, furthered my sense of belonging, kept me accountable, allowed me a space to give back and offer service, introduced fun and adventure to my life and connected me with others. This connection seems to me to be the most profound factor. Knowing that every time I step into a support group (be it an anonymous meetings, book club, sports club, hiking group, yoga class, tre group etc), the shared feeling therein always helps to ground me and bring me hope.
I recommend finding a group of like minded people and committing to this group.
